UL (Underwriters Laboratories Inc.)
UL is a non-profit examination institution which was established by U.S. Association of Fire Underwriters in 1894. Although it is voluntary to get UL-approval, a lot of electronic products, electric parts or resin material are UL-approved. UL certification is evaluated based on UL standards, and generally there is a listing mark for finished products and a recognized component mark for parts or material.
cUL (UL for Canada)
A cUL mark can be used for the products and parts compliant to UL, based on Canadian safety standards by the mutual certification system in U.S.A. (UL) and Canada (CSA). A cUL mark also has a listing mark for finished products and a recognized component mark for parts or material.
CSA (Canadian Standards Association)
CSA is a non-profit association, established in Canada in 1919, that has standards development, examination and certification business. There are safety standards for electronic products, medical equipment and machine.
